Understanding Motor Neurone Disease
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurological condition that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, known as neurons. These neurons are essential for transmitting signals that control muscle movements. With MND, messages from your nerves gradually stop reaching the muscles, leading them to weaken, stiffen and deteriorate. The symptoms of MND start gradually and progress at varying speeds, dependent on the individual.
At HASCS we have experience of caring for people living with MND at home surrounded by the things, and people, they love. We adapt to the progressive symptoms that come with MND, ensuring that their needs and wishes are met at every stage of the MND journey. It is a complex disease and whilst the needs of those living with MND may be similar, each individual experience is difference.
Supporting the MND Community: Run60 Campaign
We are proud to support our National Business Development Manager, Anna Rose, who is participating in the MND Association’s ‘Run 60 in August’ fundraising campaign. Team HASCS stands united behind Anna Rose as she takes on this challenge, raising both funds and awareness for the MND Association. Anna Rose will be sharing updates on her progress and fundraising efforts on her JustGiving page.
Anna Rose expressed her enthusiasm for the campaign: “I’m excited to participate in the Run60 campaign, not just to raise money for the charity, but also to increase awareness beyond this event. MND robs people of so much; through fundraising and raising awareness, we hope to contribute towards finding a cure one day.”
The Motor Neurone Disease Association plays a crucial role in providing support to those affected by MND, raising awareness, and funding vital research. By supporting the MND Association, we can ensure that individuals with MND receive the care and resources they need. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those battling this challenging condition.
