Our team of Complex Care Coordinators are responsible for the day-to-day service provision to our clients by producing detailed work rotas for the field staff, and acting as their point of contact. They are structured, logical and systematic in their approach, ensuring care calls are scheduled and continuity is of the highest importance. We couldn’t do what we do without them!
“Hi, I am Chelsey and I have been with HASCS for a little over 8 months, working in the Coordination department.
My first role in the care industry was in an end of life dementia ward, which was a challenge but so rewarding at the same time. It was my time here that really solidified why I wanted to work in this field. And it was from here that my passion to pursue a career in the care industry was lit.
However my move into the complex care industry was by chance, I had just moved to Canada and needed a job. Within a week I had applied and got the job working in a day centre for individuals with additional needs and disabilities. We would take our service users out into the community and teach them life skills so they could be as independent as possible. I was with this job for eight years. I learnt so many skills and one of the most important was to never take life too seriously, everyday was a new day for our service users and they always found the bright side in any situation.
After leaving this job I worked in a Rehab Centre for Addiction. This was a total 180 flip. My role here was support worker, we would be with the patients helping them through their day and supporting their routine.
I took what I learnt from the day centre and tried to help my new patients find their bright spot in that day, no matter how dark it got. This role was so fulfilling. To be able to guide them and support them, to take them out in the community and show them what could be achieved without their addictions.
Then in September 2024 I made the decision to move back to the UK to start my next chapter. I knew I wanted a change and to be challenged day to day. I spotted the advert for Complex Care Coordinator at HASCS and it intrigued me. Coordination was a job that I had not done before but knew I was ready for the change of pace. The day-to-day challenges in coordination department means no day is ever the same. There is always a new challenge to face! We face them as a team, and can rely on one another for support”
