This week marked an important milestone for the team at HASCS, it has been one year since the care team was mobilised to support MH4. To commemorate this occasion, the team gathered for a meeting filled with reflection, gratitude, and celebration; joined by the care team was his family, all of whom were grateful for the opportunity to meet with the team.
The meeting began with food and thoughts on the year, particularly focusing on how far they had come since last September. For Chris, Perry, and Jess, this time marked not only a year with the care package but also a year since they had moved to the UK.
Settling into life in Dorset, had come with its challenges, especially for those new to the country. The meeting offered the perfect opportunity for the team to share their personal experiences, recounting the hurdles they faced and how they overcame them. The sense of camaraderie and shared experiences created a warm, supportive environment for everyone to celebrate their achievements.
We are so proud of how well the team has adapted to both UK culture and their roles within the care package. The team’s dedication and professionalism over the past year had not gone unnoticed, and it was important to acknowledge their efforts.
During the meeting, the team expressed their own gratitude, sharing how happy they were to have settled into their roles. They talked about how much they enjoyed working with our service user, the strong connections they had developed with him, and how thankful they were to HASCS for the opportunity to be part of this package. Their enthusiasm for their work and the relationships they had formed demonstrated how much they had invested in not just their jobs, but in the service user’s well-being.
One of the highlights of the gathering was hearing from our service user and his family. They took the time to express their deep appreciation for everything the team had done over the past year. His family spoke of how much the team had become a part of their lives, describing them as “all wonderful” and praising the care, compassion, and professionalism they had consistently shown.
We are so proud to celebrate the achievements of our team and are so grateful we can share these milestones with our service users and their families.
