On Tuesday 3rd September, and for the second year running, we took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and we are delighted to announce we have raised over £500, doubling the efforts of our first year. This support will make a huge difference in helping Macmillan Cancer Support continue their life-changing work.
Why supporting Macmillan matters
Macmillan Coffee Mornings are more than just an excuse to indulge in coffee and cake—they’re a lifeline for those affected by cancer. Since 1990, the simple idea, which started off as a small affair, has since brought together millions of people from across the UK to have fun and raise money for a good cause. Now key event in the diaries of communities across the country, the humble Coffee Morning has gone from strength to strength. In 2022, Macmillan raised over £12 million through Coffee Mornings, and this money has a real impact. It helps Macmillan provide nurses, information services, and emotional support for those in need. They’ve even expanded their digital and remote services, so anyone can access help no matter where they are. The service that Macmillan Cancer Support provides is essential for individuals and families coping with a cancer diagnosis.
Our contribution of £500 may seem small compared to the bigger picture, but every single pound makes a difference. Each donation helps Macmillan continue its mission of making sure no one faces cancer alone.
The morning itself was an incredible success, with a spread of delicious cakes, biscuits, and bakes that had everyone coming back for seconds. The atmosphere was buzzing with conversations, smiles, and a shared commitment to helping others. It was inspiring to see so many people, from seasoned bakers to first-time cake decorators, come together for such an important cause.
