Helping One Mum and Daughter Make Precious Memories at Disneyland Paris
At HASCS, we believe in more than just providing practical support, we believe in helping our service user live their lives to the fullest, even in the face of life’s greatest challenges. Today, we’d like to share the story of our service user George, a remarkable single mother living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), and her 10-year-old daughter, who is the light of her life.
George’s journey has not been easy. Two years ago, she was diagnosed with MND, a condition that has changed every aspect of her daily routine. Now reliant on an electric wheelchair and requiring a ventilator 24-hours-a-day, George faces daily challenges that most of us can only imagine. Yet, her positivity and determination to make lasting memories with her daughter inspire all of us who support her.
One special dream tops George’s “wish list”: a magical trip to Disneyland Paris with her daughter. For them, this isn’t just a holiday, it’s an opportunity to step away from the everyday realities of medical appointments and equipment, and experience the wonder, joy, and adventure that Disneyland represents. More than anything, George hopes to create cherished memories for her daughter, moments she can treasure forever.
However, the financial strains that come with long-term care, accessibility needs, and specialist equipment make fulfilling this dream extremely difficult. Everyday expenses leave little room for such special experiences, which is why George has set up a fundraising campaign to help make this wish a reality.
How you can help
We have seen first-hand how acts of kindness and community support can transform lives. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. By contributing to George’s fundraiser or sharing her story, you’re helping to gift a mother and daughter the most precious thing of all, time together making magical memories.
With a little help from friends, neighbours, and compassionate strangers, we can turn a heartfelt dream into a beautiful reality.
